Finance Manager
Location: Glasgow or Perth (Hybrid – approx. 50% office-based)
Contract: 6 months
Rate: £450–£500 per day (via PAYE Umbrella)
Working Pattern: Full-time (37 hours per week)
The Opportunity
We are seeking a high-performing Finance Manager to join a fast-paced, operational environment within the renewables sector. This role will focus on overseeing financial control across an established portfolio of onshore assets, ensuring robust reporting, compliance and audit readiness.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who can hit the ground running, take ownership of core finance processes, and contribute to continuous improvement within a collaborative finance function.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the month-end close process, ensuring accurate general ledger reporting and review/approval of key journals.
* Manage balance sheet reconciliations and ensure compliance with financial control policies and statutory reporting requirements.
* Take ownership of year-end and half-year processes, including preparation and audit of statutory accounts.
* Lead and coordinate statutory audits, acting as the main point of contact for external auditors.
* Manage, mentor and develop finance team members, supporting high performance and continuous improvement.
* Support the transition of completed projects into operational portfolios, ensuring strong financial governance and control.
* Collaborate across the wider finance function to drive best practice in reporting and processes.
Skills & Experience
* Professionally qualified accountant with relevant industry or practice experience.
* Strong working knowledge of IFRS and FRS101 accounting standards.
* Proven ability to produce high-quality financial statements and manage auditor relationships.
* Demonstrated leadership experience, with the ability to manage and develop teams effectively.
* Strong analytical skills, with the ability to resolve complex financial issues.
* Excellent organisational and time management skills, able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
* Good knowledge of financial systems and general accounting processes.
