Are you ready to take your first step into leadership or bring your existing people management skills into a new challenge?

We are looking for a hands-on, proactive individual to help lead our caretaking team. Helping us maintain high standards and deliver excellent customer service to our customers and communities.

As a Caretaking Team Leader, you will be responsible for monitoring quality of workmanship and cleanliness. Supporting and leading a team of caretakers ensuring health and safety compliance and setting the standard for your team. You will also be actively involved in delivering caretaking tasks yourself, leading by example, and getting stuck in to make sure things are done to the highest standard.

This is a great opportunity for someone with frontline customer service experience and strong communication skills. Someone with experience in managing customer expectations and dealing with complaints. Someone who is confident working within a regulatory framework and understands the importance of compliance, customer satisfaction and team morale. You will be the kind of person who takes pride in a job well done and who brings out the best in others.

What you will be doing:

* Line management and support of a caretaking team; ensuring service delivery meets agreed standards.
* Conducting regular performance reviews, manage training, and support recruitment and induction.
* Oversee and assist in the cleaning and maintenance of communal areas, bin stores, and guest rooms.
* Monitor and assist with the management of fly-tipping, refuse, and hazardous waste, ensuring the appropriate charges are applied where appropriate.
* Ensure adherence to health and safety policies, lone working procedures, and PPE use.
* Conduct site inspections, maintain COSHH records, and support fire risk assessment actions.
* Promote Selwood Housing’s services and values, ensuring customer feedback is addressed.

What you will bring:

* An understanding of social and sheltered housing.
* Demonstrable experience working within a front customer service team in a proactive and professional manner.
* An understanding of health and safety and regulatory compliance.
* IT confidence for managing tasks, records, and reporting.
* A full driving licence – you will have access to a company vehicle.
* Leadership potential – formal management experience is not essential, but you will need the ability to guide, motivate and support others.
* Effective communication skills – both written and oral.

Please note: Successful candidate will be required to undertake a basic Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Additionally, a full and valid UK driving licence is essential for this role.
