Ambulance Service is seeking an experienced Interim Health & Safety Manager for a 3‑month assignment (with potential to extend) supporting Kent, Surrey and Sussex, with an immediate start.

This is a senior operational interim role within a complex NHS environment, providing Health & Safety leadership, statutory compliance oversight, incident management, and assurance to senior stakeholders.

We are looking for candidates who are immediately or very quickly available, confident operating autonomously, and experienced acting as a competent person under Health & Safety legislation.
The role acts as the Trust’s competent person for Health & Safety and works closely with senior leaders, managers, and frontline services.
Key Focus Areas
* Health & Safety compliance across multiple sites and services
* Incident reporting, investigation and learning (including RIDDOR)
* Risk assessments, audits and risk register management
* Data analysis, reporting and assurance to senior stakeholders
* Policy review and regulatory liaison
* Supporting and embedding a positive safety culture
Essential Experience
* NEBOSH (or equivalent) and strong professional H&S background
* CMIOSH or working towards Chartered status
* Proven NHS or complex healthcare Health & Safety experience
* Strong knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation
* Confident engaging with senior leaders and regulators
* Able to work independently at pace and manage competing priorities
