GSL Education are seeking a dynamic and energetic Sports Coach to support physical education within a thriving school in Sheffield. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead, mentor, and motivate students while helping to promote a healthy and active lifestyle. Role Overview: As a Sports Coach, you will be at the heart of delivering high-quality physical activity sessions, supporting both curriculum-based PE lessons and extracurricular sporting opportunities. You will work alongside experienced educators and pastoral teams, using sport as a tool to foster student engagement, confidence, and emotional resilience. Key Responsibilities: Plan, lead, and assist with engaging sports and fitness activities. Work collaboratively with PE staff to support curriculum delivery. Encourage participation and positive behaviour through structured games and teamwork. Lead or assist with after-school clubs, school teams, and sports competitions. Help manage behaviour and provide pastoral support during physical activities. Identify and nurture sporting talent and promote physical confidence among all students. Ensure the safety, welfare, and enjoyment of all pupils during sessions. Job Requirements: Experience coaching or mentoring young people in school or community settings. A recognised coaching qualification or a degree in Sports Science, Physical Education, or a related field. Passion for working with children and supporting their holistic development. Ability to deliver engaging and inclusive physical activities across various age groups. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Positive classroom and behaviour management skills. Have an updated CV ( covering the last ten years, barring any unexplained gaps ) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
