GSL Education are seeking a Head of Year to join the dedicated leadership team of a Secondary School in Malton, North Yorkshire. As Head of Year, you will play a pivotal role in the personal development, welfare, behaviour and academic progress of a specific year group.
Head of Year Responsibilities:
* Provide strategic and operational leadership for the pastoral care and academic progress.
* Monitor behaviour, attendance, punctuality, and overall student wellbeing.
* Build positive relationships with students, staff, and families to support student success.
* Lead on curriculum development, ensuring alignment with national standards and school objectives.
* Manage and support department staff.
* Respond to safeguarding concerns in line with school policy.
Head of Year Requirements:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with proven experience teaching at secondary level.
* Evidence of pastoral leadership or significant pastoral responsibility is desirable.
* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
* Excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills.
* Have an enhanced child workforce DBS certificate on the Update Service or are willing to process one through GSL Education.
