Opus Vitae are recruiting for a fantastic client, with a business in the group searching for a Design Engineer to join a fantastic team. The business are needing skilled Design Engineer to help with customer-lead design projects from concept to manufacture.
The design engineer will work closely with customers, sales, toolroom, production & planning teams to ensure customer requirements are fully understood & successfully delivered.
Monday - Friday, covering 40 hours a week day shifts
The Role & Main Responsibilities
1. Management of customer-led design projects from initial enquiry through to first-off manufacture.
2. Design new products & modify existing designs to meet customer requirements
3. Identify new materials, processes, or manufacturing techniques to improve quality, reduce cost & enhance performance
4. Ensure all designs are suitable for manufacturing within agreed timescales & production capabilities
5. Build prototypes & support product testing to ensure designs are fit for purpose
6. Design innovative new product solutions identified through customer enquiries, sales or management initiatives
7. Produce high-quality technical drawings in accordance with BS 8888 standards
8. Create & maintain accurate manufacturing BOM's using Epicor or Excel
9. Work in accordance with ISO 9001 QM Systems
