Assist in maintaining high standards of care for all children as Moorside Nursery is rated Good in a way that meets individual developmental needs. Implement the guidelines of the Early Years Foundation Stage and assist with daily routines.
Key Responsibilities
* Contribute to planning and implementation of appropriate activities for children, in accordance with ages and stages of development.
* Have the confidence to develop good working relationships with parents/carers.
* Ensure all development and learning records are fully and accurately maintained.
* Support the development of good practice with regards to additional needs and inclusion of children from differing cultures and religious backgrounds.
* Have sound knowledge and understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage and promote good practice.
* Have sound knowledge and experience of being a key person.
* Understand the need for, and implement a stimulating and enriched environment both indoors and outdoors.
* Encourage each child to become independent, self-motivated and eager to learn.
* Work well within a team and support the lead practitioner.
Health and safety
* Have equal responsibility for daily health and safety checks of the nursery - ensuring safety, security and hygiene practices are adhered to at all times.
* Be prepared to help with end of day cleaning routines.
* Be fully aware of all emergency and security procedures.
General
* Adhere to all policies and procedures at all times.
* Value diversity and promote equality effectively and consistently.
* Have equal responsibility for safeguarding all children within the setting.
JOB SPECIFICATION: Early Years Practitioner
The ideal candidate will be; enthusiastic, energetic, dedicated, knowledgeable and able to demonstrate a genuine passion for providing the highest standards of quality in childcare.
Essential:
Must hold a recognised level 3 or equivalent qualification in Childcare / Early Years
Have experience of working with babies and Toddlers
Current First Aid certificate
Safeguarding level 2
Strong communication skills and a team worker
Sound knowledge and understanding of Safeguarding & Child protection
Relevant and recent knowledge, and understanding of EYFS
Understanding and working experience of the Key person system
Strong observational and planning skills
Good interaction & communication skills with children
Organisational skills
Ability to communicate effectively with parents/carers
Recent Safeguarding training
Job Type: 32.5 hours term time only
An enhanced DBS check is required for this post
2 Years of Childcare Experience needed of working with 9 months to 4 year old in a Nursery setting or Early Years Setting
hours: 32.30min per week
