An industry-leading law firm firm is looking for a Business Development Strategic Intelligence Manager to join its high-performing Business Development & Marketing team.
🔑 About the Role
Reporting into the Associate Director of Business Development & Marketing, you’ll play a pivotal role in delivering timely and actionable intelligence to senior stakeholders. From managing an alert system to tracking key clients and targets, to benchmarking against competitors and identifying growth opportunities – your insights will help steer strategic decisions across the firm.
You’ll collaborate closely with BD leads, partners, and global intelligence colleagues, helping refine processes, identify market white space, and prioritise BD efforts. This is a unique opportunity to merge analytical depth with commercial impact.
🌟 Key Responsibilities
* Build and manage a comprehensive client/market alert system.
* Provide in-depth company and sector research, market insights, and competitive analysis.
* Support BD targeting programmes and identify opportunities for growth.
* Benchmark against competitors using league tables, transactions, litigation data, and market news.
* Translate complex datasets into clear, actionable stories using data visualisation tools.
* Influence firm-wide strategy with research into trends, sectors, and growth areas.
🧠 What You Bring
* Strong Excel and data interpretation skills (pivot tables, lookups, etc.).
* Analytical mindset with the ability to turn data into strategic recommendations.
* Experience with business research tools and databases.
* Excellent communication skills – able to influence and inform stakeholders at all levels.
* Comfortable working independently and within a collaborative team structure.
* Exposure to financial reporting, SEC filings, or corporate intelligence is a plus.
🎓 Requirements
* A bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience).
* Prior experience in a research, business intelligence, or strategic BD role – ideally in professional or financial services.
