This is a leadership role, so you will need a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) and extensive experience working in a children’s home with teenagers (13–17 years old). While previous management experience is an advantage, we also welcome applications from experienced Senior Support Workers or Team Leaders with supervisory skills who are ready to step into management.
As Deputy Manager, you will lead and inspire a team of Practitioners, ensuring care is trauma-informed, nurturing, and consistently high quality. You’ll help maintain compliance with the Children’s Homes Regulations and Ofsted Quality Standards, while fostering a culture rooted in love, kindness, authenticity, and professional integrity.
This is a Monday to Friday role, with the flexibility to cover two half-days per month at weekends to support the needs of the home.
Key responsibilities include:
* Leading, supervising, and supporting staff to create a reflective and nurturing team environment
* Promoting trauma-informed, child-centred practice at all times
* Supporting staff development through coaching, supervision, and performance management
* Contributing to care planning, risk assessments, and effective multi-agency collaboration
* Modelling professional boundaries and best practice in all aspects of care
* Leading activities that support young people’s emotional, social, and educational growth
What we offer:
* Competitive salary, pension scheme, staff wellbeing fund, and travel allowance
* Monthly management coaching and regular 1-to-1 supervision
* Ongoing training and professional development opportunities
* Support to complete the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare
