The role of an Activity Instructor is to ensure the welfare and safety of children on camp and to deliver outstanding, structured activities. Using supporting resources, you will deliver a range of activities including sports, arts and crafts, and games for children aged 6-14, focusing on participation, care, and development. We provide training and support to develop your skills and knowledge in a childcare setting.
As well as leading sessions, staff contribute to the high standards of physical, emotional, and social care offered by Ultimate Activity Camps. Our Activity Instructors have a pastoral role as group leaders, maintaining welfare and providing high-quality care.
Responsibilities:
1. Prepare and deliver activities for children aged 6-14, focusing on participation, development, and enjoyment, working independently and with other staff.
2. Take a pastoral role as a group leader, welcoming new children and liaising with the Camp Manager and parents as needed.
3. Supervise and engage with children outside activity times, promoting their welfare.
4. Act as a role model with high energy, enthusiasm, and professionalism.
5. Adhere to all camp policies and procedures, including health, safety, and safeguarding.
6. Uphold the Ultimate Activity Camp promise of 'Inspiring Children Every Day' through your conduct.
7. Perform ad-hoc duties such as cleaning and equipment maintenance.
Requirements:
* Experience working with children and delivering activities.
* Ability to tailor sessions according to age and ability.
* Enthusiastic, energetic, and passionate about child development through play.
* Good organization and communication skills; confident in leading children and handling responsibilities.
* Flexible team player capable of adapting to dynamic situations.
* Seeking a rewarding job during holidays with potential career progression in childcare and coaching.
Desirable Qualifications:
* Relevant sport, arts, performing arts, teaching, or childcare qualification (qualified or working towards).
* Experience managing a group of children alone.
* Paediatric First Aid (12 or 6 hours) or First Aid at Work qualification (courses available).
Pay ranges from £95.26 to £120.41 (including holiday pay), based on age, experience, and qualifications. Hours are 8:30 am - 5:30 pm on weekdays, with full or part-season roles available, and additional hours for those with First Aid qualifications (usually 8 am - 6 pm).
