(Supply Chain) Sustainability is responsible for leading IAG's supplier sustainability Governance across its portfolio of over 18,000 suppliers. This role drives Scope 3 emissions reduction, social governance compliance, and ESG performance throughout the supply chain, ensuring alignment with IAG's commitment to net-zero CO₂ emissions by 2050 and responsible business practices across all supplier relationships. Your responsibilities Strategic Leadership & Programme Development Develop and execute comprehensive supplier sustainability strategy covering environmental, social, and governance dimensions across 18,000 suppliers and in partnership with OpCos Lead Scope 3 emissions measurement, reduction initiatives, and supplier engagement programmes to achieve IAG's net-zero targets Design and implement supplier change management frameworks that drive sustainable transformation across the supply base Establish strategic partnerships with key suppliers to accelerate sustainability innovation and performance Scope 3 & Environmental Management Oversee end-to-end Scope 3 carbon accounting, reporting, and reduction strategies across all supplier categories Implement robust measurement methodologies and data collection processes for supplier emissions tracking Drive supplier decarbonisation approach, setting science-based targets and monitoring progress against commitments Integrate life cycle assessment approaches to identify and prioritise high-impact sustainability interventions Social Governance & Compliance Lead social sustainability initiatives including labour standards, human rights due diligence, and ethical sourcing practices Ensure comprehensive Modern Slavery Act compliance and supply chain transparency across all tiers of suppliers Develop and oversee supplier diversity, equity, and inclusion programmes Manage social audit programmes and remediation processes for non-compliance issues Technology Platform Management Review strategy and drive optimisation of sustainability management platforms including Watershed, EcoVadis, and SEDEX Drive data integration and analytics capabilities to enable informed decision-making on supplier sustainability performance Ensure accurate, timely ESG data collection and reporting from supplier base Leverage technology to scale supplier engagement and performance monitoring Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management Maintain expert knowledge of UK and European ESG legislation including CSRD, EU Taxonomy, and supply chain due diligence directives Ensure IAG's supplier sustainability programmes meet or exceed regulatory requirements across all operating jurisdictions Lead risk assessments and mitigation strategies for supplier-related sustainability risks Support preparation for regulatory audits and external ESG assessments Operating Company Collaboration Partner closely with Operating Companies to implement supplier sustainability programmes within their procurement and operational contexts Work with Procurement and OpCo sustainability teams to embed central sustainability requirements into local buying decisions and supplier relationships Provide guidance, tools, and support to enable OpCos to effectively manage supplier sustainability performance in their respective markets Establish governance frameworks that balance central programme direction with OpCo operational autonomy and accountability Compliance & Regulatory Oversight Ensure the control framework addresses relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards. Coordinate with internal audit, external auditors, and regulatory bodies during examinations and assessments. Monitor the evolving regulatory landscape and assess impact on control requirements. Support audit responses and lead remediation efforts for internal and external findings. Drive a culture of control awareness and compliance throughout the organization. Stakeholder Engagement & Reporting Collaborate with Group Procurement, IAG, finance, and OpCo teams to embed sustainability into supplier selection and management processes Build and maintain strong relationships with OpCo leadership to ensure alignment and buy-in for supplier sustainability initiatives Represent IAG in industry forums, standard-setting bodies, and multi-stakeholder initiatives related to supply chain sustainability Prepare comprehensive reporting on supplier sustainability performance for internal leadership and external disclosure requirements Facilitate knowledge sharing and best practice exchange across Operating Companies Build strong relationships with suppliers to drive collaborative sustainability improvements Team Leadership & Capability Building Lead, develop, and mentor a high-performing team of sustainability professionals Build internal capability and awareness on supplier sustainability across IAG Transform and Group functions Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation in sustainable supply chain management Your skills, experience and qualifications Qualifications : Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Supply Chain Management, or related field; Master's degree preferred Certifications: Professional certification in sustainability (e.g., ISSP-CSE, IEMA) strongly preferred ISO 14001 Environmental Management and/or ISO 20400 Sustainable Procurement certification GRI (Global Reporting Initiative), CDP, or Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi) training Advanced training in Scope 3 carbon accounting and supply chain emissions measurement Skills: Strategic Leadership & Vision Ability to develop long-term sustainability strategies aligned with corporate net-zero commitments Forward-thinking approach to anticipating regulatory changes and market shifts Scope 3 & Carbon Accounting Expertise Deep technical knowledge of GHG Protocol, SBTi methodologies, and Scope 3 category measurement Proficiency in carbon accounting tools and life cycle assessment approaches Social Governance & Compliance Strong understanding of labour standards, human rights frameworks, and ethical sourcing principles Experience with social audit methodologies and remediation processes Technology & Data Analytics Proficiency with ESG technology platforms and data management systems Ability to leverage data analytics for insights and decision support Regulatory & Legal Acumen Comprehensive understanding of evolving ESG regulatory landscape in UK and Europe Ability to translate regulatory requirements into practical implementation programmes Stakeholder Management & Influence Exceptional communication skills with ability to engage and influence at all organisational levels Proven ability to build collaborative relationships with suppliers, OpCo teams, and internal stakeholders Strong influencing skills to drive change in decentralised operating models where buying decisions sit with OpCos Ability to balance central programme governance with OpCo autonomy and local market requirements Programme & Change Management Strong project and programme management capabilities for large-scale transformation initiatives Change management expertise to drive supplier behaviour change and adoption Leadership & Team Development Ability to build, lead, and develop high-performing teams Coaching and mentoring skills to build organisational capability Experience: 10 years of progressive experience in sustainability management with at least 5 years leading supplier sustainability or Scope 3 programmes in multinational organisations Demonstrated expertise in managing large-scale supplier portfolios (5,000 suppliers) with complex sustainability requirements Proven track record of designing and implementing Scope 3 emissions reduction strategies with measurable results Extensive experience in social governance, including labour standards, human rights due diligence, and ethical sourcing Strong experience with sustainability platforms including Watershed, EcoVadis, and SEDEX or equivalent tools Deep knowledge of UK and European ESG legislation including CSRD, Modern Slavery Act, EU Taxonomy, and emerging supply chain due diligence requirements Experience working across multiple Operating Companies or business units in decentralised procurement environments Proven ability to influence and drive change without direct authority over buying decisions Experience working with aviation, transport, or complex multinational supply chains preferred Demonstrated success in stakeholder management at senior leadership and C-suite level across multiple entities Experience managing teams and driving organisational change across multiple geographies What we offer The chance to enjoy a challenging career in an exciting, fast-moving environment in a dynamic industry.
