I am currently working with a leading manufacturer of high-spec electronics in Colchester who are looking for a highly competent Test Technician to join their team.
In this varied role you will be responsible for carrying out production testing, inspection and evaluations of products, components and assemblies to ensure they meet the required specifications and quality standards. This role involves identifying and rectifying faults, recording data accurately and supporting the engineering and production teams to maintain product reliability and performance. Specifically:
* Conducting functional, electrical and performance tests
* Operating manual and automated test equipment
* Inspecting products and components to verify compliance
* Identifying, diagnosing and reporting product faults or deviations
* Assisting in root cause analysis and corrective actions
* Maintaining highly accurate test records, logs and reports
* Ensuring test data is entered into the Companys systems promptly and accurately
* Working in accordance with the Companys AS9100 Rev D QMS
* Setting up and maintaining test equipment and fixtures
Requirements:
* At least HND/HNC Electronic Engineering or equivalent
* Proven experience within an electronics test environment
* Hands-on experience with test equipment, such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, or specialist testing rigs
* Experience working in a manufacturing or electronics environment
* Strong technical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, test procedures and technical documentation
* Background in fault finding down to component level
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy in recording test results
* Competent IT skills, including use of MS office, MRP systems and associated data entry systems
* Knowledge of relevant electrical principles
* Understanding and working knowledge of quality standards and processes, ISO 9001/AS9100
