The Role
We are seeking an accomplished and commercially astute General Manager to lead DoubleTree by Hilton Hull, a flagship hotel with a strong reputation and a significant presence in the regional corporate, leisure, and MICE markets.
As General Manager, you will have full accountability for the hotel’s overall performance, including commercial results, brand compliance, guest experience, and people leadership. You will set and deliver the strategic direction of the hotel, ensuring operational excellence while driving sustainable growth and strong returns for ownership.
Reporting to the Group Operations Director, you will work closely with Hilton, ownership, and internal stakeholders to ensure the hotel continues to perform strongly and evolves in line with brand standards and market opportunity. You will lead from the front, embedding a high-performance culture while maintaining the warmth, service ethos, and consistency expected of the DoubleTree brand.
You will present performance at monthly business reviews, demonstrating strong financial acumen, clear forecasting, and decisive action planning. With a focus on asset care, innovation, and market positioning, you will ensure DoubleTree by Hilton Hull remains competitive and well-positioned within a dynamic hospitality landscape.
This role requires a confident, visible leader who balances a strong presence on the floor with strategic oversight, inspires high-performing teams, and consistently delivers against commercial, brand, and people objectives.
Skills and Experience
* Proven experience as a General Manager within a full-service hotel environment
* Strong preference for experience within a Hilton-branded hotel, ideally DoubleTree
* Demonstrable success in leading large, complex operations, including conference and events
* Strong commercial and financial capability, with experience managing P&L, budgets, and forecasts
* Highly experienced in navigating a brand, owner, and management company operating model
* Passionate about delivering exceptional guest experiences and building engaged, high-performing teams
* Confident in leading change, managing performance, and driving continuous improvement
* Strong knowledge of health, safety, and regulatory compliance
* An inspiring, emotionally intelligent leader with excellent communication skills
* A visible and credible brand ambassador, actively engaged within the local business community
* Strategic, resilient, and adaptable, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, performance-led environment
