Electrical Shift Maintenance Engineer
Salary: £47,442 per annum
Shift Pattern: Four on Four off (Days and Nights)
Overtime: Paid at 1.5 times
In this role, you will be responsible for electrical maintenance inspections and routine repairs across all site areas to ensure reliability and safety, while minimizing downtime on critical assets. Working as part of a small team requires flexibility and a willingness to undertake tasks beyond the role description.
Your key responsibilities:
* Diagnose faults and ensure effective repairs and improvements within minimum timeframes
* Perform planned and reactive maintenance
* Upgrade and modify plant to meet standards
* Report work using the computerized maintenance management system
* Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs to reduce downtime
* Anticipate machine failures and recommend solutions to prevent recurrence
* Maintain SHEQ standards and complete related documentation
* Promote a culture of motivation and commitment within the team
* Assist in identifying lifecycle requirements and preparing business cases for capital purchases
* Engage in fault finding and continuous improvement initiatives
Requirements:
* Active and fit, experienced in maintenance on conveyors, magnet belts, eddy current separators, and overhead cranes (working at height)
* Recognized apprenticeship or equivalent, with relevant qualifications (ONC/BTEC NVQ 3 in Electrical Bias)
* BS7671 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification
* Experience with single and three-phase AC/DC systems
* Knowledge of waste processing equipment preferred
* IT literate, familiar with business software
* Full UK driving license and residence within 20 miles of the site
* Experience in an FMCG environment is advantageous
