Job Description
We are currently recruiting for a Housing Support Worker for a 3-month temporary placement based in Stoke-on-Trent (ST4), supporting a Life House project delivered by one of our Housing Association clients.
This opportunity may be a strong fit if you have experience supporting adults with complex needs within supported housing or floating support services.
Role Overview
* Position: Housing Support Worker
* Location: Stoke-on-Trent (ST4)
* Contract: Temporary – 3 months
* Hours: Full time, 37.5 hours per week
* Pay:
o £13.79 per hour (PAYE)
o £17.47 per hour (Umbrella)
* Disclosure: Enhanced DBS with Adults Barred List (required)
* Lone Working: Yes
Working Pattern
This role operates on a rolling rota including evenings and weekends:
* Week 1: 8am – 4pm
* Week 2: 9am – 5pm
* Week 3: 2pm – 10pm
Key Responsibilities
* Providing support to adults (18+) with complex needs within supported accommodation and/or floating support
* Managing a caseload of 8–9 service users, delivering approximately 5 hours of support per client per week
* Delivering person-centred support plans to promote independent living and move-on into permanent accommodation
* Supporting service users with:
o Appointments and welfare checks
o Tenancy sustainment and housing-related matters
o Benefits support (including Universal Credit and PIP)
o Budgeting, daily living skills, and community engagement
* Working closely with statutory and voluntary agencies to prevent tenancy breakdown
* Maintaining clear and accurate case notes, records, and outcomes in line with organisational policies and data protection requirements
Ideal Experience
* Experience supporting individuals with complex or multiple needs
* A strong understanding of safeguarding procedures and reporting requirements
* Confidence working independently as well as within a multi-disciplinary team
* Strong communication and organisational skills
* Flexibility to work on a rota basis
