THE TEAM

We are now looking for a proactive and experienced People Business Partner to help deliver our people strategy across key business units.

SCOPE OF THE ROLE
As a People Business Partner, you will work closely with operational and leadership teams to provide expert guidance, support employee engagement, and drive continuous improvement across the employee lifecycle. This is a hands-on, solutions-focused role that requires both tactical thinking and operational delivery. You'll be instrumental in managing employee relations, supporting talent development, and embedding our values-driven culture throughout the business.

Duration: 6 month FTC

Location: Primarily based in Potters Bar, with regular travel (~2x per month) to Barking or other UK sites

Line of Reporting: People Business Partnering Manager Working Hours: Full-Time | 08:00–17:00

HOW YOU'LL SUCCEED
Acting as a trusted advisor and coach to managers on performance, engagement, and employee wellbeing

Managing ER casework including investigations, grievances, disciplinary actions, and informal resolutions

Supporting the rollout of people strategies and people initiatives aligned with company goals Partnering with leaders to build people management capability and consistency in applying people practices

Supporting talent and succession planning, including documentation and follow-up actions

Contributing to leadership development and manager training programmes

Collaborating with Talent Acquisition on recruitment, onboarding, and early talent development

Analysing people data to identify trends and influence people-related decisions

Supporting annual pay review cycles, benchmarking, and reward initiatives

Promoting wellbeing, inclusion, and engagement through local and group-wide programmes

Ensuring compliance with people policies, procedures, and employment legislation

Supporting change programmes such as restructures, TUPE, and process improvements

WHAT IT TAKES

Proven experience in an People Business Partner, Advisor, or Generalist role

Strong working knowledge of UK employment law and best practice approaches

Demonstrated success in managing employee relations from start to finish

Confident in influencing and coaching managers at all levels

Experience supporting talent management and development initiatives

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Proficient in people systems and comfortable using data for insight and reporting

Sound judgement, high levels of discretion, and a proactive mindset

Qualifications

CIPD Level 5 (or working towards it) or equivalent experience

Desirable: Experience in an operational, infrastructure, engineering, or international environment
