Senior Occupational Therapist – Band 6. Fixed term: 12 months (Contract to cover Maternity Leave). Full time: 37.5 hours per week (hours between 8am – 5pm). Location: Broadgreen Hospital, Liverpool. Department: ME/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome Service. Job ref: 287-RMED-349-25. Site: LUH - 1 General Staffing (AFC posts). Salary: £38,682 - £46,580 per annum. Closing date: 03/10/2025 23:59.
This is a static post within the Outpatient Team based at Broadgreen Hospital. The role involves working with patients who have a confirmed diagnosis of ME/CFS or Post Viral Fatigue Syndrome, delivering therapy in line with ME/CFS NICE Guidelines and Post COVID NICE guidelines.
Responsibilities
* Delivery of a tailored therapy programme supporting the management of ME/CFS and Post Viral Fatigue.
* Provide specialist therapy advice to enable patients to use strategies and tools to manage their condition.
* Manage your own caseload with supervision from Senior Therapists and Clinical Psychologists on site.
* Deliver group workshops and individual therapy sessions by virtual or face-to-face methods.
Team/Working Environment
Therapists work within a multidisciplinary team including Consultant Physicians, Service Manager, Specialist Occupational Therapists, Clinical Psychologist, Specialist Physiotherapist and administration staff.

Qualifications
* Graduate qualification
* HCPC / NMC / BASES registration
* Evidence of CPD
Experience
* Demonstrable post-registration experience in a junior rotational post providing broad experience in therapy and in chronic disease management or mental health
* Experience of working as part of a multidisciplinary team
* Evidence of contribution to clinical education of less experienced staff, students or assistants
Desirable criteria
* Experience in care of patients with ME/CFS
* Evidence of participation in research / audit
* Neurology skills
* Orthotic skills
* Wheelchair assessment skills
* Presentation skills
* Competent IT skills
Knowledge
* Broad knowledge of current best practice in ME/CFS
* Broad knowledge of ME/CFS
* Understand the legal responsibilities of the profession
Skills
* Effective written and oral communication skills
* Ability to manage own workload, determine priorities and delegate tasks
