As part of the team working in the P&D Division, you can make a real difference by supporting the provision of Human Resources to our officers and staff across the second largest police force in the UK.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

1. The Jobholder has national responsibility for providing strategic direction, leadership, oversight, and management of the Police Scotland and SPA Employment Equality, Diversity, Inclusion (EDI) and Human Rights (HRA) Strategy and associated activities, ensuring compliance and reporting on statutory responsibilities.
2. Work proactively in partnership with the Executive team of Police Scotland, SPA, SPA Board Members, Director of HR, and other Heads of Service.
3. Influence, encourage, and support Police Scotland and SPA at all levels to incorporate equality into core employment objectives, eliminate discrimination, create equal opportunities, and publish efforts to achieve these objectives.
4. Lead and manage the HR Employment EDI team, providing strategic direction on the design, implementation, and review of HR Employment EDI services to meet organizational needs.

Residency and eligibility to work in the UK:

Applicants must be a British citizen, a member of the EU or other states in the EEA, a Commonwealth citizen, or a foreign national free of restrictions. Residency in the UK for at least three years prior to application is required.
