Job Title: Media Manager Location: Hybrid with minimum 8 office days per month in either London or Leeds office Contract: Full time, Permanent Salary: £45,000 BookTrust is the UK’s largest children’s reading charity. Job summary: As BookTrust’s Media Manager, you will play a key role in helping us raise our profile and to reinforce messaging our areas of expertise and our core strengths. Specifically, it will be your role to: Deliver BookTrust’s Media Strategy, reflecting the priorities from our overarching organisational strategy and organisational needs and priorities, including wider comms and policy / influencing plans Liaise with colleagues across our organisation to identify media requirements and potential news stories Identify long-term and tactical opportunities to place stories and comment with national, trade or local press. Identify and develop opportunities to build relationships with key journalists and publications. Act as a media spokesperson and liaison on behalf of BookTrust Create content, including press releases and quotes for distribution. Develop media messaging and provide briefings for spokespeople. Monitor media activity and sentiment in the areas BookTrust is active in. Report on BookTrust’s media profile. Provide a reactive press office function for BookTrust Ensure crisis communication procedures are in place.
