About the Role:
We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Psychology graduate to join our team as a Learning Support Assistant. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to apply their knowledge of human behaviour and development in a practical setting, while gaining hands-on experience supporting learners with diverse needs, including special educational needs (SEN) in mainstream Primary schools.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide one-to-one and small group support tailored to individual learning needs
* Assist in implementing personalised learning and behaviour support plans using evidence-based strategies
* Support students’ emotional, social, and academic development
* Apply understanding of behaviour and learning to promote positive engagement and wellbeing
* Observe, monitor, and record student progress, identifying patterns and areas for development
* Work collaboratively with teachers, SEN coordinators, and external professionals
* Help create an inclusive, safe, and engaging learning environment
About You:
* A degree in Psychology (or a related field)
* Strong understanding of child development, human behaviour and learning processes
* Excellent communication and active listening skills, with the ability to build positive relationships
* High levels of empathy and emotional intelligence
* Ability to remain calm, patient, and resilient in challenging situations
* Strong observational and analytical skills, with a proactive approach to problem-solving
* Adaptable and flexible, with the ability to respond to individual student needs
* Genuine interest in supporting individuals with additional needs and inclusive education
* Understanding of safeguarding, confidentiality, and professional boundaries (desirable)
* Previous experience working with children or vulnerable individuals (desirable but not essential)
