This is a hands‑on, customer‑facing position responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing complex detection systems. Acting as a technical expert and liaison, you will ensure optimal system performance and customer satisfaction across Rapiscan’s RTT, CT, Checkpoint, BPI, and Trace products in the UK. While primarily based around Heathrow, occasional travel across southern regions and overseas may be required.
Responsibilities
* Install, repair, and maintain Rapiscan systems at customer sites (primarily Heathrow, with UK/Ireland and overseas coverage as needed).
* Perform routine preventative and breakdown maintenance.
* Provide out‑of‑hours standby support as part of a team rota.
* Deliver basic operator and technical training at customer premises.
* Conduct site surveys and advise on technical requirements prior to installations.
* Diagnose and resolve faults across electrical, mechanical, and software components.
* Complete service documentation, engineering change requests, and maintain accurate records.
* Provide feedback to Engineering, Product Management, and QA for continuous improvement.

Qualifications
* Proven experience in a customer‑facing technical role.
* Flexibility to travel at short notice.
* Ability to work under tight deadlines and customer pressure.
* Recognised engineering qualifications (BTEC, City & Guilds, HNC or equivalent).
* Strong electronics and computer skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office.
* Knowledge of IT networking (CCNP or equivalent preferred).
