We are working with a major client-side organisation seeking to appoint a Head of Facilities Management to lead a large, in-house FM function.

This is a senior leadership role with genuine scope and visibility. You will take full ownership of the day-to-day performance of the FM operation, while also shaping and delivering the longer-term strategy across a substantial and complex property portfolio.

This role would particularly suit someone currently operating within a comparable property company, managing agent, or consultancy environment, where you have been responsible for overseeing multi-site FM delivery, either directly or on behalf of multiple clients, and are now looking to move into a fully client-side position with greater control and influence.

The role will involve:

Leading, developing, and motivating a sizeable in-house FM team across multiple locations
Full accountability for both hard and soft FM services across the estate
Maintaining hands-on oversight of key assets, critical issues, and major works programmes
Setting and implementing FM strategy aligned to wider business objectives
Ownership of budgets, procurement strategy, and supplier/contractor performance
Driving compliance, health & safety, and risk management across the portfolio
Identifying and delivering improvements to service delivery, systems, and operational processes About you:

Proven experience leading FM teams within a client-side environment or within a managing agent / property consultancy setting delivering FM services across a multi-site portfolio
Background operating in organisations of comparable scale and complexity, with exposure to diverse asset types
Strong technical FM knowledge, with the credibility and willingness to remain hands-on when required
Experience balancing strategic planning with operational delivery
Comfortable engaging with and influencing senior stakeholders, including board-level interaction
Commercially astute, pragmatic, and focused on delivery and outcomes This is a rare opportunity to take ownership of a large FM operation from the client side, offering real influence over how services are structured, delivered, and evolved over time.
