Could you offer your professional expertise to support one of Hertford's most treasured institutions?
From the world's largest collection of toothbrushes, to items relating to the history of local sports clubs, schools and archaeology, the Museum plays an important role in preserving and sharing the history of Hertford and 31 surrounding villages.
The Museum offers a successful educational programme for schools, and offers events and volunteer opportunities for people of all ages.
You would join a committed Trustee body to help ensure the smooth running of the Museum, supporting the Curator and a small team of staff.
All museum volunteers may be subject to DBS check.
Hertford Museum is a charity reliant on grants and donations from visitors and supporters to meet weekly running costs of around £4,000. The Museum cares for in excess of 100,000 objects. Our collections include archaeology, paper ephemera, ethnography, fine art, geology, natural history, photographs, social history and the Hertfordshire Regiment collection. We also hold the Addis company archive, including the largest collection of toothbrushes in the world.
