Due to the development of Radiology Services at the new Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC) at Eastfield, Scarborough we have an exciting opportunity for an MRI Team leader to join the existing MRI management team in Scarborough.
This post will be based at both the acute site at Scarborough hospital and at the CDC, and fully participate in the MRI roster at both sites. The MRI service on the acute site is delivered over 7 working days from 8am to 8pm, with plans to introduce an on-call service to further extend acute cover for cases of cauda equina/cord compression.
The MRI service at the CDC will initially be delivered over 8 hours per day and 5 days per week, with plans to extend service delivery in the future.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will support the MRI Principal Radiographer with workforce management and planning, operational delivery of the MR service, development and implementation of MRI standard operating procedures. The MRI team leader will take a lead role in MRI safety and related documentation, undertake specialist MRI safety training, and complete the European MR Safety Officer course for which full funding is available.
The MRI team leader will act as an educational mentor and resource to the MRI team regarding MRI safety.
The MRI team leader will undertake applications training with the MR manufacturer and be able to implement sequence/protocol changes and developments, working in conjunction with radiologists, MR physicists and regional MRI teams. They will take a key role in training and education of the MRI team regarding sequence and protocol developments.

Essential criteria
8. Relevant post qualification clinical experience relevant to specialist area of employment (MRI) equivalent to post-graduate diploma
9. HCPC Registered Radiographer
