Senior Power Electronics Engineer (Gate Drives) / Birmingham One of my biggest clients (turnover $15b) in Birmingham have set up a new office in the UK and are looking for a Gate Drive Design Expert to help them design motor control systems for EV and Rail applications. We are looking for a Senior Power Electronics Engineer (Gate Drives) to join the rail team of a well-established global organization. You will be responsible for circuit design, simulation analysis, test verification of the gate driver of power semiconductor devices. What you will be doing in this role as a Senior Power Electronics Engineer (Gate Drives): * Design and development of gate drive for power semiconductor devices, design documentation and review * Ensure hardware solutions and detailed technical design, schematic and PCB design according to technical specifications * Circuit testing, validation and calibration work, and complete test specifications and reports * Electronic material management, PCB package library management * Summary and validation of design experience/criteria * Collaborative reliability engineers to complete reliability testing and coordinate with system engineers for integration testing * Work with project managers and manufacturing departments or contractors to ensure timely and cost-effective prototypes are produced at the expected cost We would like you to have Senior Power Electronics Engineer (Gate Drives): * First class degree or upper 2nd in Engineering, Electronics, Physics, or other relevant field (or equivalent experience). * 5 years working experience on power electronics product design * Familiar with power electronics semiconductor module applications * Experience with high power switching power supply development project. * Good at Altium Designer, Cadence or similar software The role offers opportunities to be involved in highly technical engineering projects, and to contribute to the process, stages, and lifecycle of product development of innovative electrification technology.
