Job Opportunity

Our team in Scunthorpe is recruiting for an experienced Young Person’s Worker, You'll be supporting a caseload of young people who are experiencing difficulties with substance misuse, working with them to access their needs, develop care plans, deliver a variety of treatments and/or refer them to other specialist support when needed.

You'll also be proactively engaging with young people to provide them with the support, training, education and guidance they need to better understand the implication of the situations they may face and the decision they may take.

This role is offered on a permanent basis and will work on site and in the community, therefore a full driving license and access to your own vehicle is essential. The hours of work are 22.5 per week, working across Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

As a Young Person's Worker, we offer a starting salary of £26,250 per annum. The salary for this role is on an incremental scale and will rise each year in line with our pay progression salary bands, to £30,900 per annum. Essential Skills

We’ll be excited to see the following in your application:

* OCN/NVQ level 3 or equivalent or willing to achieve this within 12 months
* Experience of working with young people and/or a qualification in substance misuse, mental health, psychology, nursing or youth work
* Experience of completing assessments, risk assessments or care plans with young people
* Excellent relationship building skills with a range of people from a wide variety of backgrounds, including liaising with professionals to support young people
* The ability to work effectively on your own and as part of a team, sharing your skills knowledge and experience
* Good organisational skills to be able to manage your time effectively, prioritising your work and being able to cope with the pressure of competing demands
* Excellent written and oral communication skills, including engaging delivery of presentations to large groups of young people
* The ability to record and maintain accurate case details and in a timely manner
* Effective IT skills and the ability to use different packages and digital media
