As the Assistant Solicitor specializing in Procurement, you will undertake legal work and provide legal advice on procurement, contracts, and local government matters. You will draft appropriate legal documentation, represent the Council as needed in various settings, and support the Procurement team. Responsibilities include assisting in the training of staff, staying updated on relevant legal developments, and adhering to corporate policies such as health and safety and safeguarding policies.
A qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or equivalent, holding a current practising certificate with demonstrated expertise in procurement law and public contract regulations. You should have strong leadership qualities and the ability to provide sound legal advice in procurement, contract, and local government law, with a commitment to high standards of work and upholding the Council's Equal Opportunities Policy.,
* Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
* Ability to draft accurate legal documents efficiently
* Experience and knowledge of procurement law and local government
