Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant Location: Rotherham (S25) Salary: £460 – £600 per week Contract Type: Full time, long-term / Day-to-day Start Date: Immediately Are you passionate about supporting students with social, emotional, and mental health needs? About the Role: As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and support staff to provide personalised care, guidance, and learning support to students. You will play a pivotal role in helping learners develop both academically and socially, ensuring they are able to access the curriculum and thrive in school. Responsibilities: Implement personalised learning and support plans tailored to each student’s needs. Create a supportive and inclusive environment that promotes trust and engagement. Assist students with managing behaviour and developing social and emotional skills. Collaborate with teaching staff and multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive support. Maintain accurate records of student progress, interventions, and activities. Support students in participating fully in classroom and extracurricular activities. Provide guidance and encouragement to foster independence, confidence, and motivation. Qualifications: Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, SEMH Support Worker, or similar role is preferred. Understanding of SEMH needs and evidence-based strategies to support students. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to adapt to the dynamic needs of students and the classroom environment. Compassionate, patient, and committed to supporting students’ personal and academic development.
