Special Needs Teacher
Location: Scarborough, North Yorkshire
Contract: Full-Time, Term-Time Only
Start Date: April 2026 or sooner
GSL Education is seeking a Special Needs Teacher to join a supportive and inclusive school in Scarborough, North Yorkshire. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference to students with a range of additional needs, including autism, social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) challenges, and learning difficulties.
The Role
As a Special Needs Teacher, you will:
Deliver high-quality lessons tailored to the individual needs of students with SEND.
Develop and implement personalised learning plans and interventions.
Support students’ social, emotional, and academic development.
Collaborate closely with teaching assistants, SENCOs, and other staff to provide consistent and effective provision.
Monitor progress, assess learning outcomes, and adapt strategies accordingly.c
Foster an inclusive, safe, and positive learning environment.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who:
Holds QTS and relevant experience working with SEND students.
Has excellent subject knowledge and an understanding of differentiated teaching strategies.
Can inspire, motivate, and build positive relationships with students of all abilities.
Has strong classroom management skills and a patient, nurturing approach.
Is committed to improving outcomes for students with additional needs.
Works collaboratively and effectively as part of a wider team.
