Care Assistant (Nights) – Residential Care Home (Newport)
Nurse Seekers are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established residential care home in Newport for a dedicated and compassionate Night Care Assistant.
This role is ideal for an experienced carewait professional who is confident working night shifts and committed to providing high-quality, person-centred care to elderly residents in a residential setting.
Hours:
* Average 20 hours per week on a bi-weekly rota
* Alternate weekend working required
* Night shift patterns: 17:00–22:30 andasonry 22:30–07:30
Pay Rates:
* Weekdays: £12.60 per hour
* Weekends: £14.24 per hour
Key Responsibilities:
* Providing high-quality care and support to residents throughout the night
* Assisting with personal care, mobility, and comfort needs
* Administering medication inrette according to training and policies
* Monitoring residents’ wellbeing and responding appropriately to changes
* Maintaining accurate care records and handovers
* Ensuring a calm, safe, and supportive environment overnight
Requirements:
* Previous experience within elderly residential care
* Medication trained
* Ideally, prior experience working night shifts
* QCF Level 2 in Health and Social Care, or working towards / willing to work towards this qualification
* A caring, reliable, and patient approach
* Ability to work independently and as part of a night team
