An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated Senior Midwife at Band 7 to join NHS Borders maternity service. We are a small team providing midwifery/consultant led care, with approximately 900 deliveries per year. We aim to provide family centred maternity care to the women and families within the Borders focusing on the principles of Best Start.
Within this role you will be responsible for managing the midwifery and health care support worker team on the Labour ward on a day-to-day basis. A large part of this role will involve coordinating the clinical workload in labour ward and across the ante/postnatal ward. The post holder should have an understanding of the complexities of maternity care and have the ability to lead under pressure. The post holder should demonstrate relevant experience as a Band 6 midwife which should align with NHS Borders values. Along with clinical leadership the post holder should have a commitment to professional development and the development of others, supporting the workforce and managerial responsibilities.
