Role: Lecturer – Pathways

Location: Tresham College – Kettering Campus

Salary is between £33,048 and £38,169 per annum (Pro‑Rata) based on experience and qualifications. 45 days annual leave (Pro‑Rata) plus Bank holidays, Teacher’s Pension, Retail and Leisure Discounts, excellent professional and personal development opportunities, and access to college courses. Note: Salary and annual leave entitlement is for that of a Qualified Lecturer.

Hours/Weeks: 15 hours per week – 40 weeks per year

Contract Type: Permanent – Term Time / Part Time

Right to work: This is a UK‑based contract and you must have the Right to Work in the UK. We are unable to offer sponsorship. Any offer of employment will be subject to evidence of your Right to Work in the UK.


About the Role

We are currently seeking a Lecturer in Pathways to join our Specialist Provision department at The Bedford College Group.

As a Lecturer, you will play an important role in the success of our students through:

* Specialist SEND Curriculum Delivery – Design and deliver specialist Pathways provision for learners with SEND, including small‑group teaching, Preparing for Adulthood programmes, and entry‑level English and maths qualifications.
* High‑Quality Teaching & Learner Support – Plan and deliver engaging, inclusive lessons across entry‑level programmes, supporting students to achieve success, independence and progression.
* Assessment, Progress & Pastoral Care – Assess learner work to awarding‑body standards, track progress, deliver tutorials, maintain records, and act as a designated tutor providing personalised support.
* Curriculum Development & Quality Improvement – Contribute proactively to curriculum design, schemes of work, course reviews and innovation, mentoring new staff and supporting funding and quality priorities.
* Professional Practice & College Contribution – Uphold safeguarding, EDI and health & safety requirements, participate in marketing and college‑wide activities, and work collaboratively in line with TBCG values and policies.


About You

* Qualifications & Teaching Expertise – Hold a Level 3+ subject qualification with a recognised Level 5 teaching qualification (PGCE/Cert Ed/DET), strong subject knowledge and proven FE teaching experience.
* Teaching Excellence & Learner Engagement – Deliver high‑quality teaching, learning and assessment that motivates and inspires learners, promotes positive behaviour and meets diverse learning needs.
* Curriculum Delivery & Quality Improvement – Contribute to curriculum planning and development, assessment, moderation and quality improvement processes, using data to track progress and raise standards.
* Professional Skills & Collaboration – Highly organised and analytical, with excellent communication, IT and digital learning skills, able to collaborate effectively and share best practice across teams.
* Values, Safeguarding & Professional Conduct – Student‑focused and inclusive, committed to equality, safeguarding and College values, maintaining professional boundaries, continuous development and flexibility across campuses and working hours.
