Job Summary
The Sanitation Worker is responsible for maintaining clean, safe, and sanitary environments by collecting waste, operating sanitation equipment, and following established health and safety standards. This role plays a critical part in protecting public health and maintaining a clean workplace or community.
Key Responsibilities
- Cleaning and Disinfection: Ability to properly clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, and tools following company standards.
- Knowledge of Safety Procedures: understanding of health and safety guidelines, including proper handling of cleaning chemicals.
- Waste Management: Experience in disposing of waste materials safely and efficiently.
- Operate and maintain sanitation equipment and tools (e.g., compactors, pressure washers, cleaning machines).
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, and wash floors, walls, and surfaces.
- Replenish cleaning supplies and report low inventory.
- Follow health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Qualifications
- Previous sanitation, custodial, or cleaning experience is a plus but not required.
- Attention to Detail: Ensuring all areas meet hygiene and sanitation requirements.
- Knowledge of proper cleaning chemicals and safety procedures (or willingness to learn).
- Time Management: Ability to complete cleaning tasks within scheduled timeframes.
- Team Collaboration: Working effectively with other staff to maintain a clean and safe environment.
- Bilingual candidates welcome (English-Intermediate level).
