Role Purpose:

Everest Insurance has an opportunity for a Claims Adjuster to join our Financial Lines Claims team in London. This individual will be responsible for the handling of Financial Institutions, Management Liability (including Directors & Officers), Professional Indemnity, Warranty & Indemnity and Cyber claims.

Reporting to the Head of Financial Lines Claims, this individual will handle, investigate, evaluate and resolve Financial Institutions, Management Liability (including Directors & Officers), Professional Indemnity, Warranty & Indemnity, and Cyber claims underwritten from the UK on our Syndicate and Company platforms.

In addition, they will contribute across the organisation by providing input, advice and review to underwriters and actuaries and participate in onboarding and stewardship meetings with customers and brokers.

Key Accountabilities:

1. Reviewing and analysing coverage issues and preparation of coverage letters

2. Investigating, analysing and evaluating liability, damages and cost exposures

3. Managing and directing outside experts including adjusters and lawyers

4. Preparing case summary reports related to matters of significant reserve and litigation activity

5. Setting timely and appropriate case reserves

6. Preparation of Large Claims Reports in respect of significant reserve and litigation activity

7. Developing and executing claim strategies as well as resolution strategies

8. Negotiating and resolving cases

9. Managing and overseeing Third Party Administrators (TPAs)

10. Working with underwriters to support policy construction and drafting, reporting claim trends, data analysis, and risk assessments

11. Participate in claim reviews, stewardship meetings and claim audits

12. Extensive communication and collaboration with insureds, brokers, reinsurers, actuaries, and underwriters

13. Attending client meetings and industry functions to support retention and development of client relationships and business

Qualifications, Education & Experience:

14. Understanding of Financial Lines and Cyber coverage.

15. Experience with a global insurance company working across multiple underwriting platforms, jurisdictions and markets

16. Prior experience gained in claims handling or legal experience

17. Good working understanding of London Market claims systems, i.e., ECF, IMR, Guidewire, etc.

18. Knowledge of the insurance industry, claims process and legal and regulatory environment

19. Good analytical and organizational skills

20. Good verbal and written communication skills

21. Good negotiation and investigation skills

22. Ability to think strategically

23. Self-directed and organized

24. Ability to influence others and resolve complex, disputed claims

25. Knowledge of the litigation, arbitration, and trial process

26. Ability to identify and use relevant data and metrics to best manage claims

27. Collaborative mind-set and willingness to work with people outside immediate reporting hierarchy to improve processes and generate optimal departmental efficiency

28. Ability and willingness to present to senior management and to others in other group settings

29. ACII qualified, lawyer or degree educated professional is preferable
