Western Sovereign Base Area, Episkopi, Cyprus Job Summary Are you passionate about music education and committed to ensuring that young people have access to high-quality musical experiences both in and beyond the classroom? Defence Children Services(DCS) Music is a dedicated Music Service supporting Ministry of Defence(MoD) schools. We deliver an inclusive music education programme from Early Years to Sixth Form, including classroom music, instrumental tuition, and performance opportunities for students of all ages. We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Music Teacher to join the Music team. The candidate will predominantly work in St. John’s Secondary School where there are approximately 200 children on role (this fluctuates due to mobility). The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and teaching the Key Stage (KS) 3/4 music curriculum and delivering instrumental lessons in either rock and pop instruments or brass. In addition, the successful candidate will deliver small group instrumental lessons to pupils in primary schools and support outreach programmes. This will include online delivery and in-person teaching across other MoD schools in Cyprus and globally. Travel between schools in Cyprus and occasional travel to other MoD schools globally may be required. This position is advertised as full time at 30 hours per week DCS is a Defence delivery organisation, subordinated under Army Regional Command. DCS is responsible for the education and care of children of accompanied Service and Defence entitled personnel in MOD schools and settings; provides advice and guidance in respect of education for service families in the United Kingdom and the wider world.
