Role Purpose
The EYFS Teaching Assistant will support children aged 3–5 in Nursery and Reception. You will work under the guidance of the EYFS lead and class teacher to support learning, social development, and behaviour management.
Key responsibilities include supporting children with SEN and EAL, fostering independence, and assisting in the delivery of play-based and structured learning activities.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist in delivering the EYFS curriculum, combining play-based and structured learning approaches
* Provide targeted support for one-to-one or small group activities, particularly for SEN and EAL children
* Support early literacy, numeracy, phonics, and creative learning activities
* Encourage positive behaviour, self-regulation, and social interaction
* Help manage classroom routines, transitions, snack times, and outdoor activities
* Observe, assess, and record pupil progress in line with EYFS objectives
* Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCO, external specialists, and parents
* Maintain safeguarding, health, and safety standards
* Support emotional wellbeing and development for all pupils
The Ideal Candidate
