Teaching Personnel are working closely with a thriving and community-rooted free school in the Thornaby area to recruit a Cover Supervisor starting in September. About the Role
As a Cover Supervisor, you will:
* Deliver pre-prepared lessons to classes in the absence of the regular teacher
* Maintain a positive and productive learning environment
* Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies
* Support students with their learning and ensure work is completed
* Provide feedback to teaching staff at the end of the lesson
No formal teaching qualification is required, just strong communication skills, confidence in leading a classroom and the ability to build rapport with students.
What We’re Looking For
* UK experience working with young people (schools, tutoring, coaching, youth work, etc.)
* Strong classroom presence and good behaviour management
* A positive, proactive attitude
* Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure
* Commitment to supporting students' learning and wellbeing
* An understanding of SEND needs (such as ASD, ADHD, or SEMH) is advantageous
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one, along with satisfactory background screening

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
