Together, we can do great things

We are seeking an enthusiastic and proactive Science Technician to support the work of our large and thriving Science department at Llanishen High School. This is an exciting opportunity to join a vibrant, inclusive, and oversubscribed 11–18 community comprehensive school located in the northern suburbs of Cardiff.

Our school serves over 1,700 students and is a diverse and welcoming community, proudly inclusive of all learners. We host a successful integrated Hearing-Impaired Unit and an Autistic Spectrum Base, contributing to our culture of support and high aspiration for all.

Science is a popular and high-achieving faculty at Llanishen High School. Many of our students go on to study Science and STEM subjects at top universities. At Key Stage 5, outcomes are excellent, with six A Level Science classes running across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics, along with two classes of Level 3 Medical Science. The successful candidate will also support our newly established SciTech Area of Learning Experience at Key Stage 3.

You will be joining a well-established team of three technicians who work collaboratively and flexibly to meet the needs of both staff and students. The department consists of 13 teaching staff, including subject specialists in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. Facilities include three dedicated technician rooms and departmental support areas.

If you are interested in joining our dynamic and forward-thinking team, please complete and return the application form by Friday, 28th August 2025 at 3.30 p.m.

For more information about the role, please contact Miss Victoria Thorne (Curriculum Leader for Science) at the school.
