Job Summary
We are seeking a talented and innovative Architect to join our newly established dynamic team in Manchester City Centre. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years experience and possess a strong understanding of architectural design principles and be proficient in various software tools. This role involves collaborating with clients, engineers, and contractors to create functional and aesthetically pleasing designs that meet project specifications and regulatory requirements.
The role will involve leading projects through RIBA Stages 0–4, running jobs from concept through to onsite, and acting as a key point of contact with clients and stakeholders. You will be responsible for managing and driving the design process, coordinating the wider team, and ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality design outcomes.
Responsibilities
* Develop and present architectural designs and concepts to clients, ensuring alignment with their vision and requirements.
* Prepare detailed drawings, specifications, and documentation using software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and ArchiCAD.
* Conduct site visits to assess conditions and gather data for design purposes.
* Collaborate with construction teams to ensure designs are executed accurately during the building phase.
* Manage project timelines and budgets while maintaining high standards of quality.
* Utilise software tools such as NavisWorks, Grasshopper 3D, Rhinoceros 3D, Sketch, and SketchUp for modelling and visualisation.
* Engage in negotiation processes with clients and stakeholders to achieve satisfactory outcomes for all parties involved.
* Stay updated on industry trends, materials, and technologies to incorporate innovative solutions into designs.
Skills
* Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, ArchiCAD, NavisWorks, Grasshopper 3D, Rhinoceros 3D, Sketch, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite.
* Experience working with RIBA stages 0-4 with ability to lead design teams
* Strong project management skills with the ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously.
* Excellent negotiation skills to facilitate discussions with clients and contractors effectively.
* Knowledge of construction methods and materials including joinery techniques.
* Creative problem-solving abilities with a keen eye for detail in design execution.
* Strong communication skills for effective collaboration within teams and presentations to clients.
