What skills and experience we're looking for

Do you enjoy spending time working with people to explore solutions to challenges they may face?

Are you naturally empathetic and curious about learning more about supporting families of children with special educational needs?

Do you possess good computer skills?

If so, we have the perfect job available for you!

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate professional to strengthen the vital link between home and school, ensuring every child is supported to thrive. As the primary point of contact for parents and carers, you will lead our approach to family engagement, building positive relationships, promoting pupil welfare, and improving attendance and engagement. Through proactive pastoral care, you will offer guidance, coordinate family support initiatives, and work with external agencies to ensure that pupils and their families receive the help and resources they need to succeed.

Alongside this, you will play an important part in the smooth and professional operation of the school, providing high-quality support across staff welfare, HR administration, safeguarding compliance and whole‐school organisation. Working closely with the School Operations Manager and Senior Leadership Team, you will help maintain a safe, inclusive and supportive environment by ensuring our processes are robust, efficient and fully compliant. This is a multifaceted role that demands excellent interpersonal skills, discretion and a strong commitment to our school’s values and ethos.

It is essential that you have a full driving licence and access to a vehicle for this role.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team and to support and develop the school in line with shared values and improvement priorities. We provide a creative and ambitious range of learning for over 100 pupils with a range of complex learning, physical and communication needs aged from 2‑19 years. The school is a member of the Special Partnership Trust, an ambitious and inspiring collaboration of specialist provision in Cornwall, with a focus on excellence in learning for everyone.

Doubletrees School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

All offers of employment are subject to the satisfactory completion of checks and references, including an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. We will offer you a detailed induction and ongoing, high quality professional development opportunities to fully develop in your role. Following updated guidance on Keeping Children Safe in Education, Doubletrees School will undertake an online check of all shortlisted candidates.

If you have the commitment, energy, initiative and drive to help us meet our core values, then we welcome your application. Informal visits are encouraged by appointment only. Please call 01726 812757 to arrange a visit.

Please visit the school website www.doubletrees.org.uk for further information and an application pack.

Completed applications should be returned to the School Administrative Manager: msandham@doubletrees.org.uk.

Please note CV’s will not be considered.
