Job Title: Catering Assistant
Location: Syon Manor College, Isleworth, London, TW7 5AJ
Contract: Permanent, Term Time Only
Hours: 32.5 hours per week | Monday to Friday 8.00am – 2.00pm
Salary: £20,000 per annum (not pro rata, negotiable for the right candidate with relevant experience)
Start: November 2025
As part of our continued growth in service, we are looking for an experienced Catering Assistant to join our amazing Team at Syon Manor College in Isleworth. This role involves providing nutritious and appealing meals for students and staff, contributing to their wellbeing and a positive dining experience. Working alongside the Catering Manager, you will help maintain a clean, safe, and efficient kitchen environment, ensuring meals meet high standards of quality, hygiene, and presentation.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about food, safety, and creating enjoyable meals in a school setting, with scope to develop skills and contribute ideas to menu planning.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist in the preparation of food items, following recipes and ensuring high-quality output.
* Handle and store ingredients safely, adhering to all hygiene regulations and training protocols.
* Maintain excellent food hygiene standards and promote safe working practices in the kitchen.
* Demonstrate knowledge of HACCP principles or undertake training to ensure compliance with food safety standards.
* Support menu preparation and contribute ideas to create practical, appealing, and nutritious meals.
* Work as part of a team to maintain a safe, efficient, and welcoming kitchen environment.
Experience & Skills
* Previous experience in catering, particularly in a school or similar kitchen environment, is desirable.
* Knowledge of food hygiene practices and safety regulations.
* A positive, collaborative attitude and willingness to learn.
About Us
Syon Manor College is a new post-16 provision for young people with autism and complex needs. The college will offer a broad curriculum of academic, vocational and life skills learning including BTECs, GCSEs, Functional Skills and ASDAN accreditations which will work towards Employability or Independence and Duke of Edinburgh qualifications. Options Autism has provided care and education to pupils, young people and adults with autism, complex needs and learning difficulties for over 16 years.
