What You'll Do
* Lead Modernisation by Design: Architect and redesign legacy mainframe solutions with clarity, scalability, and operational resilience in mind.
* Shape Engineering Standards: Establish best practices and reference models for modular mainframe development, data flow optimisation, and service abstraction.
* Bridge Legacy and Cloud-Native: Enable mainframe interoperability with cloud platforms, APIs, and distributed systems—driving hybrid architecture cohesion.
* Enable DevOps on z/OS: Support the development of tooling, CI/CD pipelines, and test automation strategies to accelerate delivery within the mainframe domain.
* Mentor and Influence: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, coach junior engineers, and serve as a subject matter authority across engineering and architecture forums.
What You'll Bring
* Deep technical experience across IBM z/OS environments (COBOL, JCL, IMS, DB2).
* A design-first mindset—comfortable rearchitecting monoliths into maintainable, loosely coupled services.
* Strong understanding of mainframe integration patterns with APIs, microservices, or cloud-native platforms.
* A history of technical leadership in large-scale modernisation, either as a senior engineer or architect.
