Job Title: Head of Tax – North West Europe
Location: London (Hybrid 3 days onsite per week)
Duration: 3-6 months initially, with potential extension
Pay: £700-£800 per day Outside IR35
We are seeking an experienced Head of Tax to lead the tax function for the a European region of a major international organisation. This role will oversee all aspects of tax compliance, reporting, and planning across multiple jurisdictions, ensuring robust governance, optimisation, and adherence to statutory and group requirements.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and develop the regional tax function, managing a small team and external advisors.
* Oversee all corporate, VAT, and employment tax compliance, ensuring accurate and timely submissions.
* Manage corporate tax accounting, reporting, and forecasting for group and statutory financial statements.
* Maintain and update the regional tax strategy and risk register.
* Advise senior stakeholders on the tax implications of business initiatives, investments, and restructures.
* Monitor legislative changes and provide proactive, practical guidance to the business.
* Drive tax optimisation opportunities while maintaining compliance and integrity.
About You
* Professionally qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or ACMA); CTA preferred.
* Minimum 10 years' post-qualification UK tax experience, ideally within a multinational or complex group environment.
* Strong technical knowledge of UK corporate, VAT, and employment taxes, including deferred tax and capital allowances.
* Experienced in tax reporting under IFRS and FRS102.
* Excellent communication, analytical, and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
* Practical, proactive approach with strong attention to detail and the confidence to engage at all levels.
