Job Title: Transport Customer Service Administrator
Employment Type: Full Time 40 Hour Working Week
Shift: Monday – Friday 07:30 – 16:30
Salary: £26,000 rising to £27,000 post probation period per annum, plus an attendance bonus of £140 per month
Are you highly organised, a natural multitasker, and passionate about delivering excellent customer service? P W Gates is looking for a Transport Customer Service Administrator to join our dynamic logistics team.
Role Overview
As a Coordinator, you will play a key role in the day-to-day running of our transport operations. Your focus will be on ensuring timely deliveries, handling customer queries, and maintaining clear communication across our logistics network. This fast-paced role requires strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities to keep operations running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
* Liaise with third-party logistics companies and partners to book deliveries and respond to queries.
* Coordinate daily ETAs for both our own fleet and our partner fleets within the network.
* Monitor delivery schedules, identify potential delays, and take prompt action to minimise disruption.
* Handle customer service enquiries and complaints via phone and email.
* Update internal systems accurately, including uploading proof of deliveries (PODs) and monitoring live message boards.
* Ensure a smooth flow of communication and coordination across all departments involved in transport and logistics.
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Experience in handling customer service queries and complaints.
* A proactive problem-solver with great attention to detail.
* Strong IT skills, including confidence in using spreadsheets, and general office software
* A customer-focused mind-set with experience handling customer enquiries and complaints.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and remain calm under pressure
It would be an advantage if candidates also have:
* Experience working with POD systems, live message boards and transport management systems (TMS).
* Familiarity with transport coordination and booking deliveries with third-party hauliers.
* Ability to analyse and respond to delivery delays or disruptions proactively.
* Experience working with customer service inboxes or CRM platforms.
