Overview
We have an exciting opportunity for a Therapy Assistant to join our team. Directed and supervised by Qualified Therapists, you will be working with patients on the wards in a busy acute hospital, providing hands‑on support during their admission to improve mobility and self‑care routine (e.g., washing & dressing).
Responsibilities
* Support frail, elderly patients or those recovering from surgery or illness with basic care tasks.
* Maintain accurate medical notes and record keeping.
* Clean equipment, collate statistical information, and order equipment.
* Follow treatment plans set by Qualified Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists, participating in one‑to‑one sessions or ward‑based groups.
* Organise and prioritise own workload under supervision of qualified staff.
* Progress patient treatment within established protocols and guidelines.
* Assess patient’s progress; adjust interventions accordingly and report back to the Therapist.
* Use broad range of therapeutic equipment safely once trained.
* Work one weekend a month and some public holidays as part of a rostered service.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Previous experience in a therapy, hospital, or care environment (preferred).
* Good communication and interpersonal skills.
* Basic computer skills and ability to write clear medical notes.
* Resilience, flexibility, and organisation.
* No visa sponsorship for this role.
