Role: Junior UX Designer at Canonical
Canonical, creator of Ubuntu, is on a mission to turn complex, open-source software into intuitive products that can transform enterprise IT. Our design team aims to make software accessible and user-friendly, impacting millions worldwide. We are looking for an exceptional user experience designer who shares our passion.
The role reports to a UX design manager and is based remotely in the EMEA region.
Responsibilities
As a Junior UX Designer, you will contribute to creating engaging, user-centered designs for our products. Your focus will be on producing content-rich, accessible designs that enhance user experience, utilizing your knowledge of typography, color, layout, usability, accessibility, and web standards. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to bring web projects to life and support the strategic vision of the company.
What We Are Looking For
* Excellent academic results at school and university
* Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in User Experience, Design, or STEM
* Passion for user experience, technology, and design
* Commitment to continuous learning and improvement
* Experience or agency work in design
* Confidence in user research practices
UX designers should be effective communicators, comfortable working with engineers, designers, and executives. They should confidently present their design ideas and connect their work to the company's strategic goals.
