We are now seeking a passionate and experienced Senior Environmental & Sustainability Manager to join our Power T&D leadership team in Scotland. In this pivotal role, you'll ensure our projects set the highest standards for environmental performance and sustainability. You'll drive innovation, influence decision-making, and play a critical part in ensuring Scotland's energy infrastructure is built responsibly, efficiently, and with respect for people and planet.
What you'll be doing
As a Senior Environmental Sustainability Manager you will:
* Lead the development and delivery of environmental and sustainability strategies across major power T&D projects.
* Provide expert advice on environmental legislation, permitting, and compliance.
* Drive innovation in carbon reduction, circular economy, biodiversity net gain, and sustainable construction practices.
* Manage and mentor environmental professionals across multiple project sites.
* Engage with clients, stakeholders, and regulators to build strong, collaborative relationships.
* Champion Balfour Beatty's sustainability ambitions, ensuring every project contributes to a cleaner, greener future.
Who we're looking for
You will have the following:
* A proven track record in environmental and sustainability management, ideally within infrastructure, utilities, or energy sectors
* Chartered or working towards chartership with IEMA, CIWEM, or a similar professional body
* Strong leadership and influencing skills, with the ability to engage senior stakeholders
* Excellent knowledge of UK environmental legislation and best practice
* A genuine passion for sustainability and driving positive change at scale.
