Overview
Behaviour Support Assistant - Primary PRU – Manchester. Start: ASAP (Sept 2025). Pay: £95/day (PAYE). Hours: Full-time, Monday–Friday, 8:30am–3:30pm. Contract: Temp-to-Perm for the right person.
This role supports pupils with SEMH needs and behaviour challenges at a specialist Primary PRU in Manchester. The environment is nurture-led with a focus on communication and emotional support to prevent exclusions and build resilience.
Responsibilities
* Deliver 1:1 and small group support to pupils to manage emotions, stay engaged, and improve behaviour.
* Use de-escalation techniques and work closely with teachers and staff to create a calm, structured environment.
* Support pupils in maintaining focus and participation in activities in line with school strategies.
Requirements / Qualifications
* Experience working with children with social or emotional difficulties (minimum 3 months).
* Empathetic, patient, and confident in managing challenging behaviour.
* Up-to-date Team Teach behaviour management training is essential.
* Team Teach certificate, an up-to-date CV, enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply), professional references covering the last 2 years, proof of ID, Right to Work in the UK, and proof of UK address.
