Institute of Applied Sciences - Fixed Term contract until July 2024 (subject to further funding, may be extended)
About this role
We are seeking a researcher to join our team in the Institute of Applied Sciences to cover maternity leave. The successful candidate will work with the existing team and collaborate with colleagues at the University and external stakeholders. Responsibilities include coordinating applied exercise science research, supporting field studies, data analysis, and administrative tasks related to literature reviews and commercial activities. Travel and overnight stays, mainly in the UK and possibly overseas, will be required. The role also involves supporting lectures, seminars, practical classes, and supervising undergraduate and postgraduate research projects. The initial contract is until 31 July 2024 but may be extended.
About you
The ideal candidate will have at least an MSc or MRes in applied sport or exercise science (or a related discipline) and/or be completing or have recently completed a PhD. Knowledge of applied data collection techniques and experience in field data collection are essential. Experience working with physically demanding occupations is advantageous but not required. You should have a background in sports and exercise science, experience in data collection, support for field studies, data analysis, literature reviews, and supporting commercial activities and presentations.
About the team
The research team is part of the Occupational Performance Research Group (OPRG) at the University of Chichester, delivering projects for the UK Armed Forces, emergency services, and the private sector.
