We are seeking to recruit an experienced, dedicated, enthusiastic, and highly motivated Nursery Manager to work within Kelloholm Nursery on a permanent basis. The position involves working 36 hours per week, 39 weeks per year.
Kelloholm Nursery caters to children aged 2-5 years old. We aim to provide an enriching, nurturing environment both indoors and outdoors to promote children's independence and curiosity. The nursery operates typically between 8:00am - 6:00pm, and working patterns will be arranged to meet the service's needs.
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and managing the daily operations of the nursery, ensuring high-quality early learning and childcare for all children.
Applicants should have a passion for early years education and experience, knowledge, and understanding of learning through play. Familiarity with current documentation such as Realising the Ambition, Curriculum for Excellence - Early Level, My World Outdoors, Funding Follows the Child, and the National Standard for Early Learning and Childcare providers would be advantageous. Support will be provided to inspire children's learning in our setting.
The role requires leading self-evaluation, developing improvement plans, and curricular planning. You will also contribute to overall school improvements, lead and manage staff, and liaise with parents and multi-agency teams to support children's learning and development.

Applicants must hold a BA in Childhood Practice or an equivalent childcare qualification at SCQF level 9. Candidates with a BA in Childhood Studies obtained before December 2010 and holding a relevant practice qualification such as HNC Childhood Practice or SCQF Level 7 in Social Services, Children and Young People, may also apply. These qualifications enable registration with the Scottish Social Service Council (SSSC) as a Manager of a Day-Care of Children's Service without conditions. This position is classified as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates will need to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check before a formal offer of employment is made.
Applicants who have resided outside the UK within the last five years will need to provide a police record check from the police authority in the country or countries of residence, in addition to a Disclosure Scotland Check.
